Tech Tips: Get the Most Out of Your 4th of July

Trending Tech

The 4th of July is right around the corner. That’s right – BBQs, fireworks, and time spent with family and friends is only a few days away. We want to help you get the most out of your holiday with some helpful technology tips to make America’s favorite holiday the best it can be.

Are you jealous when you see your friend’s perfect firework pictures?

Do all your pictures look like the inside of your pocket? We’ve got you covered. Follow these easy steps to take the perfect firework photos:

  1. Turn off the flash! It may seem counterintuitive, but the sudden exposure actually reduces your smartphone’s ability to capture fireworks.
  2. Keep your hands steady. Rest your hands on a chair, lay down, or use a tripod. No matter what you use, you will be glad to have the extra balance to keep your hands still.
  3. Keep your camera zoomed out. We know that you want to get as close as possible to the firework, but trust us – zooming in reduces your phone’s ability to take a good shot.
  4. Lastly, try beast mode….er…actually we mean burst mode. Change the settings on your smartphone to allow several shots to be taken at once.

Think you can capture the perfect firework picture? Share it with us on twitter at @ACTwireless with #wireless4thofJuly! A lucky few may receive a free Bluetooth speaker!

Did you get put in charge of the playlist again?

Fear not! Use music streaming apps like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Prime music, or Pandora to hear the tunes you love the most. Whether you’re rocking to oldies, the hot new singles, or just some good ole’ county music, you’ll be the talk of the party with your music lineup.

Speaking of music…

If you’re going to be on the move and need a speaker that can travel with you on the lake, to the beach, or just to the backyard, there are some great wireless Bluetooth speakers out there! Charge it up, pair it to your smartphone, and voila! Music on the move.

Low Battery?

Lastly, we know you don’t want to get stuck with a low or dead smartphone battery. Be sure to charge up your device before heading out and joining the fun – and consider bringing a remote charger for your smartphone so you can add a little boost on the move.

There you have it, folks! The tips of the trade. And if you are out and about, remember – don’t drive and use your phone at the same time. There are no re-dos when it comes to distracted driving. #ItCanWait.

Have a safe and very happy 4th of July!
