Our Wireless Future: Who’s Calling the Shots?

Wireless 101

Like every year before it, 2025 ushers in a wave of technological breakthroughs, including next generation 5G networks, ultra-fast connectivity, and major strides in artificial intelligence. As the digital ecosystem expands, the demand for proactive wireless policies grows even more pressing. The choices made now will shape the future of our wireless devices and connectivity.

So, Who’s in Charge?

Key officials at the White House, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) indicate innovation and economic development are key priorities on the agenda. Regardless of politics, we can expect pivotal discussions on policy and regulation that directly impacts our everyday connections and devices.

Under the new administration, FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr is the agency’s Chairman. His new role in leading the agency will have a resounding effect on bridging the digital divide and innovate upon the smart technology that helps us every day.

In Congress, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation and the House Energy and Commerce Committee work to promote and govern wireless innovation across the country. Further jurisdiction belongs to their respective subcommittees, the Senate Subcommittee on Communications, Media and Broadband and House Subcommittee on Communications and Technology.
